A Richer World… but for whom?

26th Jan, 2015

We’re delighted to have worked once again with the BBC News team as they developed their Richer World season which explores trends in global wealth, poverty and inequality. The video below is based on Trajectory’s analysis of a diverse range of indicators – everything from car ownership to the number of homes that have fridges – that help us to understand who is winning and losing as the world gets richer.

In uncertain times it is useful to reflect on long term changes in personal security and finances around the world. At times progress is a double edged sword – with greater access to food and refrigeration ending hunger in some places and driving obesity in others.

The Richer World season follows on from previous work Trajectory have completed for the BBC, after the award winning video produced for the 100 Women season in October 2013.
