This report, developed in partnership with McCann and the London School of Economics on behalf of Gowling WLG, explores the nature of digitally-driven transformation for businesses.
The report identifies five forces of disruption; 5G and the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Autonomy, Hybridity, and Blockchain, exploring the impact that these technologies are set to have on the world of work, as the emphasis on devices, data and connectivity grows rapidly in the coming years.
Understanding the nature of these technological developments is important, but by examining the rate of development of these technologies through extensive desk research, this report includes a timeline of development, identifying the point at which the opportunities afforded by these disruptive technologies will emerge. Knowing when to act is important, but so is knowing where opportunity is greatest, and the Global Wave of Readiness included in this report, provides an indication of both the present, and future readiness, of nations across the globe with regard to the five forces of disruption identified within the report.
