The Future of Travel
Tourism and Travel: the death of distance or a demand for more?
Thursday 23rd February – 08:30-09.30
Happenstance, 1a Ludgate Hill, London EC4M 7AA
Consumers around the world made an unprecedented amount of journeys in 2016. But as technology allows more people to connect with others and virtual reality allows us to experience a Caribbean beach without leaving the house, will this demand continue?
Travel will continue to become more affordable and more comfortable for millions worldwide, and with Virgin announcing investment in a new era of supersonic passenger flights, the furthest corners of the world may once again slide closer.
But the prevailing climate of fragmentation, global uncertainty and a renewed focus on international borders may see consumers choosing safer havens – or staying at home completely.
Travel extends far beyond international tourism and into our everyday lives – these journeys will also be affected by social and consumer trends.
Our Trends Breakfasts have been running for over three years, and each month sees a different topic discussed and debated over coffee and croissants. Taking place in the private room of a popular city location, an array of figures from different industries hear our thoughts on the chosen topic, which often draws on latest findings from our global attitudes and values survey, Trajectory Global Foresight.
Please email Isabelle (isabelle@trajectorypartnership.com) to reserve your place for free and join us for breakfast!
